The Underlying Cause of Fibromyalgia and How to STOP Flares in their Tracks!

Are you part of the 2% of Americans affected by fibromyalgia? If so, this blog will clarify the underlying meaning of this condition and show you how to ignite healing.

What is Fibromyalgia?

Fibromyalgia is a disorder where you experience pain throughout your body, as well as other difficult symptoms. It can be very hard to go through everyday life if you have a fibro flare. Researchers have said that fibromyalgia often occurs after trauma or significant psychological stress. Some cases don’t seem to have a singular event for a trigger, and symptoms gradually worsen over time.

There is no known cure for fibromyalgia, so it can be a very frustrating “invisible” disease. It’s a debilitating condition that will disrupt your life and leave you feeling isolated. Your loved ones, friends and coworkers may have trouble understanding your struggle.

Women are most likely to suffer from fibromyalgia. Some recommended responses to fibromyalgia include increasing exercise, relaxing and reducing stress.

Symptoms of Fibromyalgia

This painful disorder includes a wide range of symptoms. Many of the painful sensations occur due to an issue with how your brain and spinal cord process painful and nonpainful signals.

Dull Full-Body Ache: Widespread discomfort that goes on for more than three months, occurring on both sides of the body as well as above and below the waist.

Brain Fog: Feeling sluggish and struggling to focus or concentrate are typical symptoms called “fibro fog.”

Fatigue: Despite getting enough time for sleep, many people with fibromyalgia remain tired and exhausted all day long. It’s common to want to stay in bed throughout the day.

Interrupted Sleep: Despite feeling tired, there are often disruptions that make it difficult to enjoy rest for someone with fibromyalgia. Sleep apnea, restless leg syndrome and pain can interrupt sleep frequently.

Co-Existing Conditions: Additional issues may include IBS (irritable bowel syndrome), chronic fatigue syndrome, migraines, anxiety, depression, painful bladder syndrome, joint disorders and more.

The Energy Triggering Fibromyalgia

Not everyone experiences flares in the same way. Most people will have a specific thing that really gets bad whenever a flare occurs. What I want to help you work through is what causes those flares!

When your fibro flares, inflammation is the result. The energy triggering that inflammation is what needs to change.

Triggers could be toxic people, stressful settings, intense media, reminders of past trauma and other pressure-filled experiences. Negative energy could be bringing you down and allowing fibromyalgia to take a central focus.

For many fibromyalgia sufferers, the triggers are a form of PTSD. When something triggers that part of your brain, you shift into a reactive place. Your negative energy will feed into the fibromyalgia flare; the body will be overwhelmed in handling the negative energy, allowing the flare.

Emotional Energy that Feeds into Fibromyalgia

I want to help you free your energy to help you heal. You can create reality based on your energy, focus and thoughts. Focusing on positive energy and higher vibrations will give your body a chance to fight off the fibromyalgia flares. Your body will need full strength. On the flip side, negative energy will cause increased inflammation that exacerbates the flares.

Unresolved issues from your childhood are likely to trigger a fibro flare. Most of us carry emotional baggage that came from the struggles or frustrations we experienced as children—even if we didn’t experience abuse. Those old hurts tend to stick around and impact our choices in adulthood.

When you let the negative energy take over, you start to feel like a victim. This leaves you feeling powerless and threatened, triggering your fight-or-flight response. Paired with a fibromyalgia flare, the negative energy becomes debilitating. It leaves you looking for a safe place—bed or staying home all day.

We want to flip that energy on its head. Through powerful self-healing affirmations or prayers for healing, you can find the energy to move on with your day. Let’s start with a clearing session to reset your mindset.

How to Find Energy to Support Healing

My clearing session will help you find positive energy to push fibromyalgia back in its place and unable to take over your life. Here is how you can clear the old hurt that is triggering your flare.

Start by using a few drops of I am Healthy oil. This is a great blend that will revitalize your systems to initiate healing and clear unhealthy energies from your body. It activates your root chakra to help spur you to action and get you moving for the day.

  • First, start by sitting in a calm place where you are comfortable and have no distractions to knock you off course.
  • Sitting upright, relax your arms, shoulders, neck and jaw. Take a deep breath in and exhale strongly.
  • Shake off the tension to loosen up a bit, flinging the negative energy away.
  • Close your eyes and turn your intention inward, picturing a scene or room of some kind.
  • See a helpful being—perhaps God, angels or a wise force.
  • Look around and find the small child in the scene (your younger self). This small child may be hiding behind something in the room or standing in the corner.
  • Thank younger self for being part of your story. Acknowledge the fear, anger or frustration that may still exist because of your past experiences. Also, clarify the need for healing. Name what is causing that fear or anger from your past. Promise to protect your younger self now that you are the adult and in charge.
  • During this process, free younger self and create a space of healing. Your inner child needs to know they are safe and no longer have to be in survival mode.
  • Raise your palms up and hold your hands together, like you are going to cup something in them.
  • With your visualization, place that free and gentle energy into your cupped hands. Pull the loving energy into your heart and let it wash through your system.
  • Tapping your chest with the fingers of both hands, repeat: “I am whole and healed.”

You can do this whenever you start to feel the old stress return. This will help you reverse the fight-or-flight response and allow your body to spend its energy on keeping the fibro flare at bay.

Consider Fibromyalgia as a Messaging System from Your Inner Self

In some ways, you can thank your fibro. This condition will actually act as a messaging system, alerting you to when you aren’t taking considering that inner child. If you let things start going into a downward spiral after a trigger, you will experience a flare.

Rather than see your fibromyalgia as an enemy to conquer, try to see it as an alert that needs to be answered. Your body is trying to tell you something. The best way to respond, is to re-balance the energies most responsible for causing this alert.
